The role involves developing and updating communications products, client engagement, and coordinating internal and external communications to create a robust communications ecosystem. The role also supports developing and further enhancing communication products within Tiwalere III. Responsibilities Continue to deliver FEED Communications Strategy through reviewing and updating Strategy and activities in the Implementation Plan. Undertake a mid-point review of the Strategy in July 2020 and lead on any course corrections identified therein. Ensure that all communication products for Tiwalere III comply with the USAID branding and marking requirements. Develop and promote good news stories through external and internal communications channels. Maintain FEED style guide and support with development of any new communication templates. Manage graphic designer for development of designed materials. Coordinate and disseminate monthly Malawi Tiwalere Newsletter using Mailchimp. Write, edit, and proofread communication materials, including newsletters, leaflets, flyers, booklets, posters, banners, etc. Manage the print and production process of communication materials when required. Facilitate in the development of materials Expand the social media network Contribute to social media channels and online communities, developing contents, scheduling contents, and engaging with the community to build a vibrant, interactive audience. Provide the opportunity to share, collaborate, and amplify public relations materials through partners’ channels Contribute to the production and management of website contents. Provide reporting support for Monthly and Quarterly Programme Reports. Undertake broader communications work as designated by the DCOP Update and maintain the various communications products used by FEED such as programme relationship map, services brochure, branding guidance etc. Participate in cross-functional groups such as the Staff Forum, contributing as a content expert on internal communication matters. Contribute to the effective running and content of team meetings including monthly FEED all staff meeting and annual team away day. Manage all social Media community channels *Perform other assigned functions within their area of expertise. Required Qualifications, knowledge, Skills and Abilities Professional experience in communications. Has excellent communication skills, with an enthusiasm for communicating challenging messages creatively and effectively; communicates sensitively, effectively, and creatively across different audiences. Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management. Proven networking skills, and the ability to proactively build productive working relationships with internal and external partners/stakeholders; ability to generate interest in the project and the institution Excellent understanding of and in-depth experience in communications and outreach. Competence in the use of social media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Proven ability to write engaging and accessible copy and develop other contents in a variety of styles for different audiences and channels, conveying key points clearly and concisely. Excellent proofreading and editorial skills with exceptional attention to detail.
