Using a participatory community-based approach, FilmAid Kenya provides displaced people with actionable information about their rights, their safety, their health, and their future. Using compelling video, radio, print, SMS, and digital media campaigns, FilmAid Kenya reaches over 400,000 people every year.Description and scope of work: FAK intends to produce a Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition Animation Video that will highlight the nutritional benefits with a specific focus on demystifying the nutritional benefits of a balanced diet to mothers in the Dadaab Refugee Complex and the host community. The key objectives of this production are to; Create awareness of what maternal nutrition means to the entire household and sensitize the target audience on the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy, infant, and young child feeding. Create awareness of the key foods to be consumed during pregnancy to achieve good nutrition. Highlight the effects of maternal malnutrition on fetal outcome. Sensitize the target audience on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding. Demystify harmful societal and traditional beliefs on nutrition during pregnancy and child nutrition.Expected deliverables and output: A 5-minute maternal, infant, and young child nutrition video animation that meets the above five key objectives. A comprehensive Creative Brief, within which a detailed breakdown of the target audience, outcomes, and messaging, will be shared with the selected animation company/animator.The animator is expected to: 1) Liaise with FAK’s Programs team to develop a script and storyboard for the animation from a Creative Brief that will be availed by FAK. 2) Develop and submit the animation concept from the scripting stage to the final animation video product in consultation with FAK’s Programmes, and the Production team. 3) Create a storyboard that represents the script narrative and share it with the FAK lead focal as will be detailed on the Creative Brief for approval. 4) Create a high-quality animation through captive and creative design models, backgrounds, sets, characters, and objects. An animation environment that will bring the intended messaging “to life”. 5) Incorporate original soundtracks into the animation that match the timing and pace of a character or an object during the sequence of images and ensure they follow the soundtrack and audio requirements, 6) Record a Voice Over (V.O.) that will be layered as part of the animation, incorporating graphics and special effects as required/desired to produce the finished animation piece. 7) Adheres to production deadlines and satisfactorily meets FAK’s production requirements.
