Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Global Communications Manager will work closely with the Freedom Fund team to enhance the profile of the Freedom Fund and to align its public communications to the broader objectives of the organisation.

The Freedom Fund (www.freedomfund.org) is a leader in the global movement to end modern slavery. It:

• invests in those countries and sectors with the greatest incidence of slavery.

• analyses which interventions work best and shares that knowledge.

• brings together a community of activists committed to ending slavery and empowered by the knowledge of how best to do so.

• generates funding by demonstrating how effective interventions can protect those at risk of being enslaved and free those in slavery.

The Freedom Fund works to combat many different forms of extreme exploitation, including forced labour, sex trafficking, forced marriage, and the worst forms of child labour. The Freedom Fund operates antislavery programs in Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Thailand and Myanmar and will open new programs in Brazil, Indonesia and Bangladesh in 2021.

Specifically, the Global Communications Manager will:

• Write / edit or manage the production of external-facing communications material, including brochures, reports and publications, so that the Freedom Fund’s work is effectively articulated

• Manage the Freedom Fund’s e-communications, including drafting and publishing emails to distribution lists, and owning the newsletter mailing lists, so that e-communications meet the highest standard

• Scope, plan and manage content- and story-gathering commissions

• Manage the Freedom Fund’s image library and work with vendors to procure photo and video assets

• Work with outside vendors to execute updates to the Freedom Fund’s website

• Conceive and design marketing collateral with input from several staff members under tight deadlines

• Collate website and social media metrics, tracking progress against objectives

• Maintain and oversee the Freedom Fund’s brand guidelines

• Where needed, work with Freedom Fund donors and partners to effectively promote their support of the Freedom Fund

• Support key fundraising initiatives, such as salons and donor convenings, establishing innovative ways to share the story of the Freedom Fund’s impact at a wide range of events

• Support the programs team with the production of reports, graphics, images, and other communications materials

• Create and update communications materials, both print and digital, to promote and share about the work of the Freedom Fund to a variety of audiences

Location: Open with preference for New York City, USA or London, UK.
