Event Video Production & Livestreaming of the EU and Danida Funded Safety Nets Initiative

Project Background

Oxfam is a development, humanitarian and campaigning organization that works with others to challenge poverty and inequality. Oxfam envisages a transformed Kenyan society in which everyone regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity or social standing is able to access basic services and fully participate in decision making processes on issues that affect their lives and can be heard.

Oxfam in Kenya and a coalition of 6 NGOs recently launched a project, funded by the European Union and Danish Government, that will provide 120,000 Nairobi and Mombasa informal settlement residents with monthly cash transfers (safety nets) via MPESA for three months. These are households that are unable to meet their basic food and sanitation needs due to reduced or lost income during the COVID-19 pandemic, and who are at risk of sexual and gender-based violence. The project will specifically target the disabled, chronically ill, and elderly Kenyans; as well as orphans and pregnant or lactating women.

Project Objective

Oxfam in Kenya is seeking a talented Event Video Production Team to help produce two live streamed forums in Nairobi and Mombasa convening NGO partners, government, experts and EU and Danida representation, discussing learnings from the programme and suggestions for long-term implementation of our safety nets programme and investment in SGBV services.

Scope of work

Under the supervision of Oxfam in Kenya’s Communications Advisor the Event Video Production Team will be required to:

❏ Create engaging social media videos from raw content assets provided (images and videos from the field, interviews of event guests, etc.) in advance of each event to promote the events on our social media platforms

❏ Set up the filming and live streaming of each event capturing each speaker and audience reactions/questions, to be shared on our social media platforms live

❏ Create engaging social media videos to be released after each event to present event highlights on our social media platforms.
